Hi Mr. Conant,

I wanted to write and give you a brief update about my situation and to thank you for all the support that you and the tribe of Laguna have given me throughout my educational career!

To start, I am about two months away from graduating with my master's degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Utah.  It has been a long hard road that has taken me from Eastern New Mexico University, all the way to the gorgeous valley of the Wasatch mountains here in Salt Lake City.

I have recently completed my first school externship at a junior high and high school near Salt Lake City, and am about two weeks into my medical externship at the University of Utah hospital in inpatient rehabilitation.  Despite the heavy work and study load, I have been able to relax and enjoy what Utah has to offer.  In the summer, I am able to go hiking in the foothills and canyons around the valley, and in the winter, because of the close proximity to the mountains, I have been snowboarding nearly everyday!

With all of that said, I have arrived at a fork in the road and realize that I miss the vibrance and unique culture of New Mexico.  So, I am in the process of looking for school or medical jobs around Santa Fe and Albuquerque, and would love to work and be involved with the tribe in any way possible!

I thank you so much for all that you have given me!  With your help, I have received an outstanding education from the University of Utah that has exposed me to a variety of diagnoses and cutting edge research, therapies and technques that I will utilize throughout my career as a speech-language pathologist.  Your support has given me the confidence to pursue a degree beyond the bachelor's level, which has in turn entered me into a profession where I can give back and help people of all ages and backgrounds.

Thank you so much!
